Who we are
Sowthzide Games Pvt Ltd (CIN U62099KL2025PTC095244) runs sowthzide.com. Our registered office is Ground Floor, Jesus Towers, Painkulam, Thodupuzha, Kumaramangalam part, Kerala 685608, India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Sowthzide Games Pvt Ltd. "You" means anyone using this website.
What we collect, and when
We do not ask for personal data to browse the site. Everything below is tied to something you choose to do.
- When you send us a message
- Your name, email address and the contents of your message, through the contact form, and your website address if you ask for the audit.
- When you make an account
- One welcome email to the address on it: what we do, what it costs, and the free audit. It is sent once, and it has an unsubscribe link and a link to choose what we send you.
- When you join the Plus waitlist
- That your account is on it, and the date. Your email address goes on the waitlist list we keep with our email provider, so we can tell you when Plus opens.
- When you ask for news
- Only if you tick the box that says so, on any form: your email address, and your first name if we have it, go on our news list. Every email from that list has an unsubscribe link.
- When you email yourself your website check
- Your email address, to send the results to, and your answers. The results are worked out from your answers; nothing else from the check is sent or kept.
- When you create an account
- Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and company name. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. If you sign in by phone we receive your phone number.
- When you buy something
- Your billing details and what you ordered. Card and UPI details are entered on our payment provider’s systems and never reach ours — see "Who else is involved" below.
- Automatically, on every visit
- Our hosting provider records your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request, in its server logs. That happens because a web server cannot serve a page without it.
- Only if you allow it
- Google Analytics measures which pages are used and how people arrive. It does not load, request anything or set a cookie until you press Allow on the card that asks. If you decline, nothing of Google’s runs at all.
We never see your password. It is sent by your browser straight to Google’s authentication service, which stores it in hashed form. Nobody at Sowthzide can read it, and neither can we recover it — a forgotten password can only be reset, never retrieved.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and to carry out work you have asked for.
- To welcome you once when you make an account, to tell you when Sowthzide Plus opens, if you joined the waitlist, and to send you news, if you asked for it.
- To create and secure your account, and to let you sign back in.
- To process an order, deliver what you bought, and keep the records tax law requires us to keep.
- To understand which pages are useful, so the site gets better.
- To keep the site working and to detect abuse.
Where the law requires your consent — analytics, for example — we rely on consent. Where you have asked us for something, we rely on that request. Where we must keep records, we rely on the legal obligation to do so.
Children
This site is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Creating an account asks for a date of birth, and an account is not created if the answer is under 13 — the attempt is refused before anything is sent to our authentication provider, so nothing from it is stored. The date itself is not kept; what is kept is that the check passed.
The contact form asks the same question as a confirmation rather than a date, because asking a stranger for their birth date in order to answer a question would collect more about them than the form otherwise does.
These checks run in your browser. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data anyway, write to info@sowthzide.com and we will delete it.
Cookies and similar technology
No tracking cookie is set before you agree to one. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart, and it is not loaded until you press Allow — decline, and the script is never requested, so there is nothing to set them.
Your choice is remembered on your device so you are not asked again. You can change it from the footer of any page, under “Analytics choice”. Turning it off clears the cookies Google set while it was on.
The site works identically either way. Nothing behind the choice affects what you can use or how it behaves.
One thing is stored on your own device and never sent to us: the phone number you type during sign-up if you have not finished the process. It stays in your browser, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Signing in stores a session token on your device so you are not asked to sign in on every page, along with the name on your account and which edition it holds, so a page can show them before the sign-in check completes. Signing out removes all of it.
Who else is involved
We keep the list of third parties short and we do not sell data to anyone. These are the ones the site actually uses:
- Google — Firebase Hosting
- Serves this site, so every request reaches it: your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser type.
- Google — Firebase Authentication
- Runs accounts and sign-in. The sign-in code itself is loaded from Google on pages that offer sign-in and on Plus pages, so those pages send your IP address to Google whether or not you sign in. Pages that do neither do not.
- Google — reCAPTCHA
- Used only if you verify a phone number, to stop that being abused. It does not run anywhere else on the site.
- Google — Analytics
- Measures which pages are used. It is not loaded, and sends nothing, unless you press Allow. Declining means the script is never requested.
- Resend
- Sends the email this site sends, from info@sowthzide.com: your message to our inbox and a confirmation back to you, one welcome email when you make an account, the waitlist confirmation, website check results you ask for, and news only if you asked for it. It receives your name, your email address and what each email says, and holds the waitlist and news lists for us. It is based in the United States.
- Nobody, for the typefaces
- The fonts used to come from Google and are served from this site now, so reading a page no longer tells Google that you did. The same is true of the contact form’s helper script, which used to come from a public CDN.
- Razorpay
- Processes payments for Sowthzide Plus. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay’s systems, are governed by Razorpay’s own privacy policy, and are never stored by us.
The home page can open a client’s live website inside a frame. That site is not ours, and once it loads it may set its own cookies under its own policy.
We may also disclose data where a law, a court or a regulator requires it.
Where your data is held
Your account — your email address, your password as a hash rather than as text, your name if you gave one, and when you last signed in — sits in Firebase Authentication, which Google runs from data centres in the United States and nowhere else. That is not a setting we are able to change.
We run no database of our own. Everything you type into a Sowthzide Plus tool — your rates, your clients, your figures, the logo you upload — stays in your own browser and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage deletes it, and we cannot recover it for you because we never had it.
The pages themselves come from Google’s global network, so the copy you load is served from wherever is nearest you. Contact form messages, and every other email this site sends, go through Resend, in the United States, and payments are handled on Razorpay’s systems. Where data leaves India we rely on the provider’s contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries
- Up to 24 months after our last exchange. If the enquiry becomes a project, the correspondence is kept with that project’s records, below.
- Account data
- For as long as the account exists. There is no delete button yet: write to info@sowthzide.com from the account’s address and the account is deleted within 30 days, except for the records below.
- Sales records
- Razorpay holds the payment record under its own policy; card and bank details never reach us. What an account bought is recorded on the account for as long as it exists, and the sale sits in our books for eight years, which is what Indian tax and company law requires.
- What the Plus tools hold
- Nothing, on our side. It is in your browser only, for as long as you leave it there.
- Analytics
- Only if you pressed Allow, and then for the period set on our Google Analytics property — Google offers two or fourteen months — after which Google deletes it.
- The Plus waitlist
- Until Plus opens and we have told you, or until you ask us to take you off it.
- The news list
- Until you unsubscribe -- every email from it has a link that does it at once -- or ask us to take you off it.
- Unsubscribing
- Every marketing email links to a page where you can stop the news or stop everything; mail apps that show their own Unsubscribe button use the same. Once you stop everything, we keep your address only on the list of addresses not to email, so a later form cannot add it back.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- ask what personal data of yours we hold and how it is used;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or complete anything missing;
- ask us to erase your data where we no longer need it;
- withdraw consent you have given, which stops future use but does not undo what was lawful before;
- nominate somebody to exercise these rights if you die or become incapable of exercising them;
- complain to us first, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we have not resolved it.
Write to info@sowthzide.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, which protects you as much as us.
Grievance Officer
If something about our handling of your data concerns you, raise it with Ronic Tijo Parakattel, Chief Executive Officer, at info@sowthzide.com, or by post at Ground Floor, Jesus Towers, Painkulam, Thodupuzha, Kumaramangalam part, Kerala 685608, India. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Google and never visible to us. Payment details are handled by Razorpay and never touch our systems. Product files are not left in a public folder.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will say so more prominently than a changed date.
