The short version

If something on this site is yours and should not be here, write to info@sowthzide.com and we will look at it. You do not need a lawyer to ask, and you do not need to use any particular form of words.

What is on this site, and what is not

Everything published here — the writing, the tools, the worked examples and the screenshots — is ours or is used with permission, except where a page says otherwise.

Nothing you put into a tool is published anywhere. A logo you add to an invoice, or a work file you import, is read by your own browser and stored on your own device. It is not uploaded to us, we cannot see it, and there is nowhere on this site for anybody else to see it either. That is a property of how the tools are built rather than a promise about how we behave.

Telling us about an infringement

Send a notice to info@sowthzide.com with enough for us to act on it:

• the work you say is infringed, and where we can see it if it is published elsewhere;
• the exact page or file on this site that you say infringes it, with a URL;
• your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for them;
• your signature, electronic or physical.

We aim to acknowledge a notice within three working days and to act on a well-founded one promptly. If we take something down we will tell whoever put it there, where there is somebody to tell.

If we take something down and you think we were wrong

Write to the same address with the material that was removed, where it was, and why you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, along with your contact details. We will put it back unless we are told the matter is going to court.

Repeat infringement

Where an account is involved, we will close the account of anyone who is shown more than once to have infringed somebody else’s copyright. Because nothing on this site is published by its users, this has nothing to remove today and everything to do with what happens when that changes.

Designated agent

The DMCA’s safe harbour for stored material, at 17 U.S.C. 512(c), applies to a service provider that stores material on its system at the direction of its users, and requires that provider to register a designated agent with the United States Copyright Office. We store nothing at the direction of users: uploads stay in the browser that made them, this project has no storage bucket, and there is no upload endpoint. No agent is registered.

If that changes — if anything a user supplies is ever stored on our servers or shown to another person — an agent will be registered before the feature ships, and this section will name them. Until then the address above is the one to use.
